Your Audiologist will determine the extent and cause of your hearing loss by checking your ears and testing your hearing.

Are you suffering from hearing loss or ear problems? We’ve got you covered.
At All About Hearing, we are dedicated to offering you the best in hearing care, making it easy to check on your ear health. That’s why we offer two types of hearing tests; a hearing screening and a comprehensive hearing assessment, depending on your individual needs.
See below for everything you need to know about our hearing tests...
A hearing screening is a quick hearing check that you either pass or fail. We recommend a hearing check every two years for anyone over 50 or an annual hearing check for anyone over 70.
This is an uncomplicated test to gauge your levels of hearing. We will play you a series of sounds at different frequencies to understand if you have any hearing impairment.
If the results suggest you may have hearing loss, we will recommend that you undertake a full hearing assessment for further investigation.
Unlike most hearing clinics, our comprehensive hearing assessment is a full analysis of your hearing and overall ear health. From here we can benchmark your hearing levels and breakdown the next steps for maximising your hearing potential, ensuring you are informed and supported every step of the way.
Our comprehensive hearing assessments are carried out in six stages (as appropriate):
1) Extensive medical history
2) Video otoscopy
3) Air and bone conduction testing
4) Additional testing including ULL testing, tympanometry and speech in noise testing.
5) Explanation of results in full
6) Recommendations and discussion
It's a good idea to bring a friend or family member to this appointment, as a familiar voice is a useful reference during your hearing assessment.
This is the very first step to better hearing and sets your individual path for renewed communication and
engagement with friends and family.
1 in 6 people in the UK have hearing loss, this equates to over 11 million people.

There are hundreds of hearing aid models to choose from, resulting in an overwhelming choice. We use our years of experience to choose the best industry leading, reliable manufacturers who have evidence-based solutions, for the majority of hearing losses.
We offer the very latest in hearing technology from all of the world's leading manufacturers. This means that we can always find a solution to suit the majority of hearing losses, patient lifestyle and most importantly budget.
Our hearing devices start from £795, which includes fitting, manufacturer warranty and our comprehensive aftercare program.
If you are considering purchasing hearing aids, it’s important to know that you have a range of options to choose from.
The latest technology in hearing devices offers a variety of incredible features, such as noise-cancellation, Bluetooth connectivity, and directional microphones, which all greatly enhance your listening experience.
Hearing aids vary in size and style and how they fit in your ear; but they all carry the same basic parts that carry external sounds, most importantly speech, to your ear. Some are so small they are invisible on most people; others fit wholly or partly into the ear canal. Others fit behind the ear with a very slim wire running in to the canal.
Hearing technology is improving and evolving all the time and our Audiologists ensure that they are up to date with the most recent developments and will only suggest the most technologically advanced and suitable solutions.
When you decide to proceed with hearing aids, we offer a minimum 30-day trial experience. During that period you will have 2 or 3 follow up appointments, so that we can monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments to suit.
It is of paramount importance to us to ensure that you are completely satisfied with the outcome of your hearing aid fitting.
To ensure you get the very best from your hearing aids, we offer all our patients a personalised aftercare package - this is tailored to you based on your experience with hearing aids, level of hearing loss and confidence with the technology. We understand that every patient is unique, therefore so is your aftercare plan.
Regular aftercare is vital to ensure your hearing aids are still operating to its full potential and continuing to provide you with the best possible experience.
For some, rehabilitation may be required over a period of time to get the very best results. This may be due to you being a first time wearer of hearing aids, significant changes in your hearing levels or perhaps you just need help getting used to the level of technology you have selected.
This is no different to getting used to a new pair of glasses or a change of medication; everyone has their own adaptation time and we will support you on every step of your hearing journey.

"From the minute my father sat in Karen’s clinic room for his consultation, she put him at ease and treated him so respectfully and in such an understanding manner.
We took my father back to see Karen recently to have his new hearing aids fitted. His hearing is weak, especially in one ear and life has been frustrating for him and our family. Well not anymore, because what Karen has achieved is nothing short of incredible!
A huge sign of improvement was seen when we got him home, mother can can talk normally to him now and as he would have the TV volume in the 70’s it’s now on 15!"
